Beware of fake job offers using our name
Scammers are impersonating Mapletree Media Pte Ltd with fraudulent job offers on WhatsApp and Telegram. Here's how our real hiring works — and how to protect yourself.
The situation
Scammers are using the Mapletree Media name — and sometimes the names of our real staff — to advertise fake jobs and "task-based" earning schemes.
These approaches usually arrive through WhatsApp or Telegram and promise easy money for simple online tasks. The goal is to collect your personal details, your banking information, or an upfront payment. Mapletree Media is not connected to these messages in any way.
Mapletree Media never recruits, interviews, or makes job offers through WhatsApp or Telegram, and never asks applicants for payment, deposits, or "training" or "activation" fees at any stage. If you are being asked for either, it is a scam.
Real offer vs. scam
- Recruitment and "interviews" happen entirely on WhatsApp or Telegram
- You're asked to pay a deposit or fee, or to buy something to "start" or "unlock" tasks
- Pay is unusually high for vague work (e.g. "earn $300/day rating videos")
- Contact comes from a personal number or a @gmail.com address, not our domain
- You're pressured to decide or transfer money quickly
- You're asked for bank logins, OTPs, or ID documents before any real interview
- Roles are listed on our careers page at mapletreemedia.com/careers
- Our recruiters email from the @mapletreemedia.com domain
- We hold a proper interview before any offer is made
- We never request payment, bank passwords, or OTPs
- A written offer is issued on Mapletree Media letterhead
- You can always verify an offer with us directly (see below)
Common red flags
- Messaging-app recruitmentAny job offer or interview conducted over WhatsApp or Telegram is not from us.
- Requests for moneyDeposits, registration or "training" fees, or buying products to earn commissions.
- Requests for banking details or OTPsWe never need your bank password, one-time passwords, or card details to hire you.
- Offers that seem too good to be trueHigh daily pay for simple online "tasks" such as liking, rating, or reviewing.
- Urgency and secrecyPressure to act immediately, or to keep the arrangement confidential.
How we actually recruit
These are the only ways we hire. If a job offer reaches you any other way, treat it as fraudulent.

If you've been approached or scammed
- Stop all contact and don't pay. Do not send money or any further personal information.
- Don't share banking details or OTPs. If you already have, contact your bank immediately to secure your accounts.
- Keep the evidence. Screenshot the messages, profiles, phone numbers, and any payment records.
- Report it through the official channels below, and let us know so we can help warn others.
